"Siza before Siza"
The Siza Vieira family were from Matosinhos, and one of their sons, then only 21 years old, was studying architecture. He was not yet an architect. That is why, 55 years later, Álvaro Siza Vieira would sign the project, accompained by a not that recalls this origin. At that time, he could not do so: he did not yet hold the title.It was during the execution of this work that Siza earned, among others, the nickname of “Our Architect”. Only this family calls him that. They were the first. They have that right.
The Casa d'Abreu Neto
May 28, 1957.The house is inaugurated.

In 2025, the granddaughter of the first owners transforms the family home into a house with an open balcony, welcoming all those curious, lovers of Siza and of architecture.
​
It becomes the Casa d'Abreu Neto.
