The First Siza
A Building Pictures Documentary
Directed by: Sara Nunes / Original Idea: João Rapagão and Sara Nunes
"The First Siza is a documentary about the Quatro Casas, Álvaro Siza's first work, designed while he was a student, and the impact of architecture on people's lives. Based on the reunion, 60 years later, between the architect and Fernando Neto — his first client and owner of one of the houses in Matosinhos — the film reveals how this project was decisive in his career.
With interviews with Siza, the house's inhabitants and the critic Francesco Dal Co, as well as current and archive images, the narrative shows how architecture and life intertwine over time."
